Hello!
I am not dead, but I am living in the USA in 2025, which is almost worse.
It has been a long time since I posted anything here. Life happens. I thought that those of you who are subscribed would appreciate an update on the progress of Notes from the Deathworld Earth and other original fiction projects I am currently thinking about.
Well let’s start with Deathworld. I have completed two more drafts since I updated you all about draft 1.5, and I am working on a third. So far I have queried 10 literary agents. I have not had anyone interested in working with me to publish it yet, but that is totally normal for writers. I have heard that it typically takes between 40 and 100 queries before an author receives an offer of representation, so there is a long road ahead!
I have already received two personalized rejections of the manuscript, which doesn’t sound like a big deal if you don’t know about the query process, but is actually huge. I am taking some of the feedback I received from one agent into account for draft 3.
I think I could really get that novel published one day! In the meantime, Draft 1 will always be available here for you all to enjoy, cut chapters and all.
In other news, I have been working on other projects. A couple are just fanfiction and not very interesting for this blog, but others are other original works of fiction that I have been working on for a long time. I don’t know what I’m going to do with them yet, but they are in the works.
